YANG SHIZHONG

Yang Shizhong, an expert in communication and TTC (Tracking Telemetering & Command), was born in Chongqing in October 1937. He graduated from Department of Electrical Engineering of Chongqing University in 1960. He is currently Full Professor of Chongqing University. From 1960 to 1965, he engaged in computer technology research at Institute of Computer Technology of CAS(Chinese Academy of Science). From 1965 to 1985 , he engaged in research on satellite communication, radar, remote sensing and TTC technology at CAST( Chinese Academy of Space Technology). From 1985 to now, he has been engaging in teaching and researching on Communication and TTC technology at Chongqing University. He was elected the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1997. His main research achievements cab be reflected by follows:
1. Special Communication System was awarded National second prize for Science and Technology Progress. This system is a mobile communication system with very high spread spectrum gain (G >30dB). Moreover the de-spreading is realized by the DMF (Digital Matched Filter).
2. Satellite CCD-TV Remote Sensing System with Picture Transmission Ability was awarded National second prize for Science and Technology Progress. This system implemented firstly the real time transmission of satellite remote sensing picture in China. Besides this system is a complex satellite-ground system including remote sensing information acquisition, processing, memory, transmission and TTC for this remote sensing system.
3. Unified Spread Spectrum TTC and Picture Transmission System was awarded National third prize for Invention. This invention enables the TTC system to have the all advantages of high gain spread spectrum system.
4. Synthetic Termination Equipment of Unified TTC System for Air Vehicle was awarded National third prize for Science and Technology Progress. This Equipment unifies4 functions i.e. tracking, telemetering , telecontrol, picture transmission in one TTC system .
5. New Method of Frequency Acquisition for Precision Tracking System was awarded National third prize for Invention. In this method the conception of center frequency that is the center of gravity of the spectrum was proposed,besides the design of the hardware to analyze the center frequency be given.
6. DualFrequencies Doppler Frequency Acquisition Receiver was awarded the National Science Congress prize. This receiver was the important equipment of the earth station for the first satellite of China.
