Mr.Ho Tim

Dr. Ho Tim joined Hang Seng Bank Ltd (formerly Hang Seng Ngan Ho) in Hong Kong in 1933, was appointed its Director and General Manager in 1953 and Vice-Chairman from 1967 to 1979. Presently, in addition to his appointment as Director of Hang Seng Bank, Dr. Ho holds directorships in a number of listed companies. He is the Honorary Chairman of Miramar Hotel and Investment Co. Ltd; a Director of New World Development Co Ltd and King Fook Holdings Ltd; and the Chairman of Tak Hung (Holding) Co Ltd.

Dr. Ho is active in public service. He is a Permanent Member of the Board of Trustees of the United College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Council Member of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Board Member of the Hang Seng School of Commerce, a Committee Member of the Tang Shiu Kin and Ho Tim Charitable Fund, Permanent President of the Hos Clansmen Association Ltd, Honorary President of the Panyu District Association of Hong Kong and Honorary Permanent President of the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society.

In 1982, The Chinese University of Hong Kong conferred on Dr. Ho the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Social Science; in 1997, an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Business Administration by The City University of Hong Kong; and in 1999, an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws by The University of Hong Kong. He was made an Honorary Citizen of Guangzhou, Panyu and Shunde in 1988, 1993 and 1995 respectively by the respective municipal governments. He was appointed a member of the Selection Committee of the First Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China in November 1996.
