ZHUANG ZHAOWEN Zhuang Zhaowen, specialist in the field of Information and Electronic Engineering, was born in Nan,an City, Fujian Province in June 1958. He graduated from National University of Defense Technology (NUDT) in 1981, majored in Electronic Countermeasure. He received MSC degree from NUDT and PhD degree from Beijing Institute of Technology in 1984 and 1989,respectively. In 1999 he was in Purdue University, U.S.A., as a visiting scholar. Now he acts as the dean of the School of Electrical Science and Engineering in NUDT, commissioner of Science and Technology Committee of General Armament Department, member of subjects comment group in Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, fellow of Electronic Academy of China. He was chosen to join the training program of top hundred talent people for new century by National Education Committee in 1994 and was elected to the national elites training program of the first and second classes in 1996. He won China “Qiushi”Award for outstanding youth (namely, Practical Engineering Award) in 1998，and gained the financial support from the National Outstanding Youth Foundation in 2000. Ever since the end of 1980s, he has been engaged in researches on theory and engineering technology of realtime signal processing, satellite navigation and location, radar automatic target recognition,etc. He has finished more than 20 key projects of the state, and won four National Scientific and Technological Progress Prizes of the 2ndclass, eight 1stclass ministry awards for advances in science and technology. He has published 9 monographs and textbooks, more than 220 papers in journals and conferences in which 156 papers are indexed by SCI and ETTP. In his education career, 30 of his students got PhD and 58 got MSC degree under his supervising. And what is more, one of their dissertations was honored the national top-100 PhD dissertations, three of them was honored the firstclass PhD dissertations in Hunan Province.
