LI DEYI

Li Deyi, expert in the field of Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence,  born in Nov.28 1944 at Tai County, Jiangsu Province, China, graduated at Electronic Engineering Dept. Southeast Univ. in 1967, got his PhD degree in Computer Science Dept. HeriotWatt Univ. Edinburgh UK in 1983,elected as member of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1999, member of Eurosian Academy of Science in 2004.  At present, he is the professor,  PhD supervisor in Beijing Institute of Electronic System Engineering, director at the National Lab for Software Eng. in Wuhan Univ., professor and PhD supervisor at Qinghua Univ.  vice president of both Chinese Institute of Electronics and Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence.
He put forward a new theory on graphic pairs of controlflow and dataflow with Premium Awards given by IEE Headquarters, London, 1984~1985, proposed an equal mapping between relational databases and predicate calculus, which can be seen in his two books titled respectively by  A Prolog Database  and A Fuzzy PROLOG Database System, both published by John Wiley & Sons Inc. New York and Research Studies Press Ltd, England, 1984 and 1985.He is the owner of a patented invention on the cloud generators, and become the first person in China to own the IFAC99 World Congress outstanding paper for his qualitative reasoning in 1999.He creates the cognitive physics, used for data mining and knowledge discovery, etc. Over 170 papers have been published.
One item owned with the 2nd prize, National Scitech Progress Award; two items with the 3rd prize, National Scitech Progress Award; three items with the 1st prize, National Defense Department; four items with the 2nd prize, National Defense Department. He is titled as National level Young and Middleaged Scientist with Outstanding Contributions by the State Council in 1992, and Natioanal Defense Outstanding Expert in 2005.
