Abstract

Prof. Wang Yue, a specialist in information and communications technology, was born in Jiangsu province on Apr. 1, 1932. He graduated from the Department of Radar Engineering of P.L.A. Institute of Telecommunications in 1956. From 1957 to 1968 he worked in the Huanghe Machine Manufacture Factory in Xian. Between 1968 and 1993 he successively served in the Xian Institute of Electronics Engineering. From February in 1993 he has been working in the Beijing Institute of Technology till now. He held the posts of chief designer of fire-control radar system, president and chief engineer of XIEE, president of BIT, etc. He is now honor president of BIT, also a Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Since 1957 Prof. Wang has engaged in research and development of fire-control system in China, and made outstanding achievements on fire-control system design. During over 40 years of hard work in research and engineering practices, he has found out a unique way of designing and developing fire-control radar system. He put forward and completed the theoretical setup of Chinese Electronics Antagonism System. Prof. Wang won the First Prize for National Progress in Science and Technology and the Fourth National Prize for Invention in 1989, and also won the Special Prize and the First Prize for Progress in Science and Technology by the Ministry of Machinery and Electronics Industry in 1988, and the First Prize of Guanghua Foundation in 1993.
Prof. Wang was conferred the title of “Young and Middle-Aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution " by Ministry of Personal in 1991, he has also been honored with title of “ Meritorious Award of Ordnance Industry " in 1993, “Model Worker of the National Education System " in 1995. He has published over 50 papers. He has supervised two post doctor, 7 doctoral and 18 master's students graduated.
