SU ZHEZI
Su Zhezi, a senior engineer and the designer in the field of gun weapon system, was born in Xian Yang of Shan Xi Province in Jan, 1936. He graduated from Beijing Institute of Technology in 1959, and joins the design and development work of heavy military armament in the Research Institute of Harbin No.1 Machinery Manufacturing Factory, as well as holds the post of vice head of the institute, vice chief engineer and chief engineer of factory successively. From 1995 to this day,he assumes the office of chief designer of 155mm selfpropelled gun weapon system comprising 11 styles of armaments.
He won the State Council special allowance in 1992, has occupied the commissioner of science and technology office of China North Industry Company in 2000, as well as the parttime professor of Beijing Institute of Technology in 2002, and the science leader of weapon system general technology of China North Industry Company in 2003.
As a inaugurator, he uses the advanced and new technology, including low light level night vision technology, laser rangefinding technology, steppress computer technology, infrared imaging sensor technology, GPS and inertial navigation technology, digitalized information technology, command, reconnaissance and fire adjustment radar, CCD, etc. into domestic gun suppressive weapon system. Under his leadership, our gun system enters the new phase of whole set armament from single armament copy and single armament development. He is the exploiter, one of the researcher and leader in the field of China gun suppressive weapon system, and makes great contribution to China gun suppressive weapon system which is whole set, hightechnique, automatization, selfpropellant and tracking the advanced level of the world. He won the first prize of National Scientific Progress Award two times and the second prize one time, won the first prize and the second prize of ministerial level Scientific Progress Award one time respectively, and the National Scientific Convention Award one time. He won the personal secondclass merit of the ordnance industry ministry and the firstclass merit of China North Industry Company one time respectively.
