AWARDEE OF TECHNOLOGICAL SCIENCES PRIZE

FU YIBEI

Prof . Fu Yibei， a radiochemist，was born in  1929  in Province Hunan and graduated from Sichuan Institute of Chemical Engineering in 1953. In 1955-1960 he was a graduate student at Leningrad Institute of Chemical Engineering (U.S.S.R.) and received PH.D. degree of chemical science. During 1960-1963 he worked in Tsinghua University and since 1963 up to now he worked in China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP). He was director of Institute of Nuclear Physics and Chemistry, vice chairman of the Scientific and Technological Committee of CAEP. He was elected the academician for China Academy of Engineering.
For a long time he and his research group have got a series of creative scientific and technological achievements in the fields of radiochemistry,isotopic chemistry,radiation chemistry and materials science. The main successes he has got are as follows:
1.Experimental studies and analysis the samples of nuclear tests;
2.Production radioisotope and preparation of Bone Tumor therapeulic radiopharmaceutials 153Sm-EDTMP;
3.Xps Study the surface chemistry of uranium and plutonium metals, using the atomic and molecular reactive statics and the eleclonic states study the potential energy function, molecular structure, thermodynamic and dynamic processes;
4.Study the Radiation effect of the methyl vinyl polysillican foam, polycarbosilane and polysilazane, dibutul-ophthalae, siloxane foam at γ-ray and EB Radiation field;
5.Hollow glass microsphere production for laser fusion targets and study its properties.
In the recent 15 years , Fu and his co-workers has published more than 200 papers, he has won 6 national awards and 11 ministerial awards for his work. He educated many studends and supervised 20 PH.D. postgraduates.
