MAO ERKE

Abstract

Mao Erke, an expert in Electronic Engineering, was born in January,1934 in Beijing. He graduated from Nankai middle school in Chongqing in 1951, then continued his higher education in Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). He graduated from the Department of Radio Engineering in BIT in 1956.After graduation, he joined the faculty of BIT. He has been a professor since 1983 and was elected  the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995.
Professor Mao devoted his career in the teaching and scientific research in the field of radar systems and radar signal processing. He has supervised 68 graduate students. Among them, 36 have obtained the Ph.D. degree. He and his research group have made significant contributions in radar systems and radar anti-clutter signal processing. Their research has been applied to many radars with excellent results.
Due to his remarkable achievements, he has won the National Invention Award four times, including the second, third, and fourth prizes. Professor Mao has also received many honorary titles from the government, such as Model Worker, National Specialist with Outstanding Contributions.
