WANG XINGZHI

Abstract

Wang Xingzhi was born in September, 1935 in Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province.  He graduated from Harbin Military Engineering Institute. From 1963 to 1970, he worked as a technician in Artillery Sciences and Technologies Research Institute and was  in charge of the system technique of the first generation special air-vehicle. From 1970 to 2000, he was appointed as the chief designer of the second-generation special air-vehicle and the new type special air-vehicle. He was elected member of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995.
Wang Xingzhi has continuously been engaged in design and development of the special air-vehicle systems, one of the key fields of the national defense development. He is a pioneer, developer in developing our nation's special vehicles and plays a leading role in the field and has made significant contribution to the development of our nation's special air-vehicles for catching up with and surpassing the world's advanced level. In the development of the first generation special air-vehicle he had solved the problems of trajectory design, system maneuverability and stability. After he was appointed the chief designer of a new special air-vehicle, he had surmounted the critical technical problems and made the main specifications of the system reach world's advanced level.
Wang Xingzhi won the Prize of the National Science Conference. He is the No.1 in the top grade prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Prize. and he also won the title of the Young and Middle-Age Specialist with Outstanding Contribution to our nation, the Special Government Subsidization rewarded by the State Council and the Prize of China Engineering, Science and Technology. The State Council awarded him the National Model Worker. And the National Defense Science, Technology and Engineering Commission awarded him a Citation for Merit, First Class for his contribution to the 9910 Project.
