CEN KEFA

Abstract

Cen Kefa, academician of China's Engineering Academy, was born in Nanhai，  Gaungdong Province, 1935, He acquired bachelor degree in Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1956 and deputy doctor degree in Moscow Institute of Technology, USSR in 1962.  Then he came to Zhejiang University as a teacher and has been director of Institute for Thermal Power Engineering since 1989.  Now Prof.  Cen is fellow of Engineering Academy of China, executive director of China Society of Power Engineering, executive director of China Society of Engineering Thermophysics, director of National Association of Coal Processing and Utilization of China, member of International Combustion Society, deputy chairman of Science and Technology Society of Zhejiang University, etc.  Prof.  Cen is in expert in FBC and Gasification Technology、 Coal-slurry (Washary Tailings) Combustion Technology、 High Efficiency and Low Pollution Combustion Technology, MSW Incineration Technology, Combined Cycle Generation Technology of Coal and Biomass, Coal Co-generation Technology, Coal Washary Tailings Combustion Technology, Pulverized-Coal Combustion Technology, Computer-Aided Test  (CAT) in Large Power Plant Boiler, Expert System in Large Power Plant Boiler, Erosion and Corrosion Mechanism of Tube Bank in Power Plant, Organic Toxic Waste Incinerate Technology, Combustion Pollutional Gas Permission Control Technology, Clean Combustion and Coal Mixture Optimization, High Efficient Strengthened Heat Transfer Technology and Gas-solid Multiphase Flow Characteristics, etc.  With his fellows, Prof.  Cen finished over 70 R&D projects, covering the area of energy and environment, including several international cooperative researches with United States of America, Switzerland, Canada, Japan, Korea, and United Nations, etc.  Currently 27 R&D projects are undergoing.  Prof.  Cen has written about ten monographs, such as “Theory, design and function of Circulating Fluidized Bed”、“CWS flow, Combustion, Heat Transfer and Gasification Theory and Technology”、  “Prevention Theory and Calculation of Ash Accumulation, Slagging, Erosion and Corrosion of Boiler and Heat Exchanger”、“Combustion Fluid Mechanics” and “Engineering Gas-solid Multi-phase Flow Theory and Calculation” etc.  Academician Cen awarded  distinguish professor honored by the State Department of China in 1995, distinguish scientist honored by the State Science Committee of China in 1990, distinguish professor honored by the State Education Committee of China in 1990, etc.
