HUANG CHUNHUI

Huang Chunhui, an inorganic chemist, was born 1933 in Hebei. She received B. Sc. degree in 1955, Peking University. Currently she is a professor of chemistry in both of Peking University (since 1991) and Fudan University (since 2003). In 2001, she was elected the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciencs.
Her research interests mainly focus on coordination chemistry of rare earth elements and functional molecular based thin film materials. She has devoted herself to the design, synthesis and crystal structural study of functional complexes, especially the studied on photoluminescence and electroluminescence complex. She has introduced the principle of molecular design of second harmonic nonlinear optics into the material design of photoelectro conversion to explore the structureproperties correlation between the two kinds of material in DπA dye system. Consequently, a new kind of material for the photoelectro conversion has been developed. By using hybrid and surface modification of the electrode, she improved some important character of the dye modified nanocrystalline TiO2 solar cells, and successfully fabricated into the solar cell module.
Three books: Coordination Chemistry of Rare Earth (1997), Ultra thin films for optics and electronics (2001), Introduction to Organic LightEmitting Materials and Devices (2005), and more than 400 SCI articles have been published. She was honored with numerous awards, such as National Natural Science Award.
