HUANG YAOZENG

Abstract

Huang Yaozeng,Chemist,was born in November 1912 in Nantong,Jiangsu Province,China.He received his B.S.degree in 1934 from the National Central University in Nanjing.He was promoted to a full professor at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry in 1951 and elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1980.
Professor Huang Yao-zeng took part in the study of steriod chemistry and synthesis of polycyclic compounds in his early years.He was engaged in the study of organofluorine chemistry in the late 1950s.He is one of the pioneer of organofluorine chemistry in our country.He ushered in the study of organometallic chemistry in 1960s.He is the founder of organometallic chemistry in our country.His research work about the organometallic chemistry of main group elements plays a leading role in the world.He first established the method of modern organic microanalysis in our country.He had contributed greatly to our national economics and defence development.
He has been awarded various kinds of national honors for five times and the chemical award of the Third World Academy.
